City Allotment Cambria House, Kings Cross
Cambria House is run by the Salvation Army Housing Association, it is a second stage resettlement centre for single men as part of the London Borough of Camden's pathway plan for homeless men as the final stage before independant living.
The brief was pretty simple in this case.
Cambria house residents wanted me to "Give us a garden, within the city of London, where we can grow and plant vegetables and fruit."
The aim of the space was to give the residents a place to grow their own food and develop gardening skills. The space could also be used as a place to relax and socialise.
