Redesignah: R Watts

Welcome to my page which features all of my most recent work during my time studying to become a professional interior/spatial designer and after.
The main programme I use to create my visual design images is vectorworks, but I can also use 3Ds Max, Cinema4D and Photoshop. As for any skill, I am still learning and refining my methods and approach when arranging my visuals for presentation. Sometimes I also make models and collages, but I maily present my final work in digital images like the ones you are about to see.
I am initially an interior designer but I am also a spatial designer which covers all areas from a small bit of architectural redesign to outdoor/landscaping design. The main thing I am interested in as a designer, however, is how people use space and interiors. As a creative designer, I aim to be conceptual in my approach but also realistic. I am Rebekah Watts: I'm a Redesignah.

Salvation Army Community Centre Nunhead, Peckham

Presentation boards:

Description:

The newly designed Salvation Army community centre is based around a concept which asks.....
“How can Nunhead Salvation Army building be used to involve the
surrounding community?”
The garden is the key link in the design which enables Nunhead & Peckham’s local community to gain renewed perceptions and understanding of the Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army is dedicated to providing for all people, regardless of race or class: It’s services are there for all. The community garden is a stunning display of this kind of self-less service: offering a space that is completely accessible for anyone. The space will be run and maintained by Nunhead Salvation Army.
The design allows the garden to open itself onto the street. A space where people of all ages can enjoy and socialize with one another, this willhelp in strengthening the relationships of those in the community. In addition, the garden is the meeting place for members of the community and those who work for/are members of the Salvation Army.
The new design helps to aid an ease of interaction between Salvation Army members and the surrounding community.
This means that Nunhead Salvation Army is able to offer services such as community cafe and kids play schemes with greater effect. Nunhead Salvation Army's program will be able to expand and grow effectively because the new design of the community centre will accommodate it.

Take a closer look:

As part of my design, part of the building remained in its original state whereas the other half (seen with the balcony) is a proposed new build structure.
